Her first adventure. Early that morning her mother had told them both about a new place for them to visit. A watering hole it was called, and Dooma had excitedly followed her mother to this new place. Up until now her life had consisted of staying in the den, and playing near the den itself. This was new to her and she could hardly contain her excitement. For awhile the family walked at a slow pace and she would out distance her mother.. only to get yelled at. Quite a few times she returned to her mom with a submissive posture. She wanted to just go already, just run free without the threat of danger. Finally, the family arrived at the watering hole. Dooma stood there in awe of this new area, there was so much to explore here.
The animals around the watering hole watched the lion family cautiously but did not run. The law of the land protected any family that lived here, so no one could be hunted here. Not that hunting meant much to young Dooma. She giggled softly and bounced away from her mother and ran down to the water's edge. She wanted to see what this place had to offer her. Glancing over her shoulder she waited for her sister to come with her. They basically did everything together.
"Come on Spotty.."
She called out and ran ahead anyway. Dooma ran along the edge of the watering hole, feeling the sad and cool mud beneath her tiny paws.

Unlike her excited twin sister, Samirah wanted no part of this adventure. As soon as their mother told the girls of the planned trip, Spotty had flattened her ears and clung onto a large rock within the den. "Nope! Nuh-uh! I ain't going to some waterhole! I'm staying right here!" She, of course didn't have a say in the matter as their mother swiftly picked up the defiant cub by her scruff. At once the small family was off, Dooma bounding around the lioness's legs and Spotty dangling from her jaws. Even though she was going whether if she wanted to or not, she sure wasn't about to make it easy for her poor mother. Flailing her arms and legs, she tried her best to scramble out of the lioness's grasp. "Put me down Mom! I want to go back in the den! I don't like it out here! Everything smells weird! Moom!!"
When she sister wandered a bit too far ahead, their mother had to put Samirah down to call for Dooma and it was then that she seen her chance. Turning about, she tried to race off back toward the den, but with a quick movement of her mother's back paw, Spotty was sent sprawling to the ground as her tail was pinned. She yowled her disapproval when she was picked up again. Within a few moments, the ornery cub realized she wouldn'tve found her way back home and she stopped her flailing to curl her body in on itself and squeezed her eyes shut, remaining quiet the rest of the walk. Suddenly, she was placed on the ground and she dared to open her eyes. She sure wished she hadn't.
There were strange animals everywhere and all of them were very much larger then herself. Some had massive horns, others had humongous feet and they all downright terrified her. Dark goldenrod eyes flicked about, fear shining within. Samirah whimpered pinning her ears to her head before she was nudged forward by their mother and Dooma called out, "Come on Spotty". Samirah furiously shook her head and turned toward her mother, quite literally sitting upon her paw and clinging to her leg. "No! I wanna go home! I don't like it here, Mommy!"

Dooma pouted delicately as her twin sister remained beside their mother, there was so much to do and yet no one else to do any of it with. Her ears flattened after a moment and then she returned to stand near her mother. Honestly she wanted to just enjoy their day away from the den, to be able to run and climb without being called back. If her twin wouldn't join her she would just have to go on her own. She looked up at her mother seeking for reassurance and was met with a gentle smile. That was all she needed. The girl cub bolted away from her mother and sister, she ran along the watering hole. Dotty giggled excitedly as she ran along, darting in and out of legs of various creatures. They didn't panic with her motions and so she continued her game, unaware that one day this activity could be very dangerous. For once she got older these animals would fear her as they did her mother. Noticing some rocks up ahead the lioness cub bolted towards them. Leaping up, she dug her baby claws into the rock and scuttled up onto it's warm surface. She padded to the edge and looked out across the watering hole, seeing what else she could have doing. However the loud trumpet of a elephant calf sent her running for her mom.
Being that she was a young cub she was not used to this really. Elephants and hippo's looked like giants in her eyes. She moved to rub against her mother, needing her comfort now that the large elephant had scared her half to death. "Mama what is that..?" She asked her softly, looking at her mom for some sort of answer.
As her heart rate returned to normal, her attention fell on Spotty. Perhaps she'd like to play if they stayed near their mom? "If we stay near mommy will you play with me?" Dooma asked her sister as she waited for some sort of answer.

The young cub lifted her dark golden gaze up toward the face of her mother and pouted as she realized that they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. Sighing, she looked over to watch her twin sister bound off to play without her. Large eyes watched in horror as the greyish hued cub weave in and out around the huge animals legs. She winced, waiting for one of them to just step on Dotty but after a while, she realized that they weren't trying to harm her. Sucking in a deep breath, Samirah tentatively stretched out a back leg and gingerly placed it upon the cool, sand. Releasing her claws, she kneaded the ground with her one paw, judging if it was safe to stand on and once the child came to this realization, she slowly crawled off her mother's paw. Lowering her head, she sniffed the sand and sneezed, bringing her head up sharply. Flicking her ears about her head, Spotty deemed that she would be just fine. She carefully walked toward the water's edge, watching the other animals warily. Flicking her tail, she stuck out her pink tongue and lapped at the water, tasting it. It wasn't bad, but not as good as her mother's milk. Lifting her head, she tried to look for her sister amongst the other animals. "Dotty? Where'd you go?"
Spotty perked her ears as she walked forward and had just spotted her sister when the elephant calf trumpeted abruptly. "MOM!", the young cub squealed in terror as she bolted back to her mother. Jumping onto the lioness's leg and without a thought began to climb up it until the top of Spotty's head nudged the bottom of the female's chin. "See?! I told you that this place is horrible! It's big and noisy and scary!!" Squeezing her eyes shut, she clung onto her mother for dear life. It took several minutes until Samirah calmed down enough to realize that nothing was coming after her to kill her. When her sister asked if she wanted to play near her mother, Spotty simply shook her head no furiously. Opening her eye barely a sliver, she glanced around making sure no one was charging at her before sighing softly. Looking at her mother now, she smiled sheepishly and climbed up the lioness's neck to lay upon her back. From up here, she felt alot bigger and alot safer.
Glancing down toward her sister, she frowned slightly, feeling bad that she didn't have anyone to play with. Suddenly, their mother moved to lay down upon her belly so Samirah could still lay on her back. Smirking now, the cub could now reach her twin sister. Outstretching her arm, she tried to bat at Dotty's ear, growling playfully.
